THE DAY OF THE CALL
PREPARE THE SET
Make sure to prepare the set with plenty of time before your call to avoid rushing through the process.
Place your pad or a firm cushion near the window that we discussed previously.
Roll the bath towels along the long edge and form a doughnut on top of the cushion. If your towels are too thick or too thin, adjust the number accordingly.
Place a folded hand towel wedged inside the upper part of the “doughnut” hole (where the baby’s upper body will be).
Make sure the edge of the towels where the baby’s head will lay is slightly higher.
Drape the blanket over the towel doughnut. Push your hand in the middle to make the dip in the blanket deeper.
Try placing your baby on the set to make sure the doughnut is big enough. If needed readjust the doughnut to be larger or smaller for your baby’s size.
BEFORE THE PHOTOSHOOT
By now, you should have already arranged the set and have everything ready to go into the room where the photos will be taken.
HEAT THE ROOM
75° – 85° F
Even if it’s too warm for you, newborns can’t control their own temperature.
UNDRESS YOUR BABY
Leave the diaper on and wrap your baby in a loose blanket.
FEED HER / HIM
Let your baby have a good full feed, take your time, and RELAX.
WAIT FOR DEEP SLEEP
After a full feed, allow your baby to burp and settle into a deep sleep.
Follow the link to our meeting, I will be waiting for you.
WHAT IF MY BABY ISN'T A GOOD SLEEPER?
If your baby does not sleep well, don’t worry. Simply make sure she’s well-fed and with a clean diaper.
Also, chances are that she won’t keep her legs up enough to hide her diaper, so putting a cute onesie on her might be a good idea.
